I visited Jeweled Rose, a local lapidary shop in Forest Grove, Oregon, to see what rough rock I could find, and it was great! I purchased a carnelian, a blue agate, a white agate and a piece of petrified wood, and I cut all but the white agate in this video.

hi I’m Betty recently I did a little bit of searching to see what lapidary stores were near me to see if I could get some rough Rock jeweled Rose is in Forest Grove Oregon and that’s not very far so I rushed right over there when I was parking I felt a little bit awkward but when I walked
in the door I was greeted by Tiffany and she showed me her rough Rock I ran around all the bins looking through them excitedly and I really quickly grabbed a Carnelian the blue agate and a piece of petrified wood I also grabbed a white chunky agate that I have set aside he’s a really big boy and I
am not sure how to cut it Tiffany has a huge gem tree in the rough Rock Room I couldn’t even see it because I was so focused on all of the Rocks here’s the inside of that carnelian this really surprised me little tubes and lots of inclusions I was so frenzied and excited to be there that I
grabbed the Rock blurted out something about mentioning her store on my YouTube channel and then ran off without exploring the rest of her store but that’s also just a great reason to go back this blue agate is a hard hard rock it took a really long time to cut and it’s almost impossible to polish I invite you
if you would like to polish this rock I will send it to you it’s dark Moody it hates to be photographed it’s a little bit like me back to Jeweled Rose Tiffany is not only a business owner she’s an artist and a third generation lapidarist if you’re anywhere near Forest Grove it’s absolutely worth a visit for some
reason I thought this was just a chunk of blue caleton so when I cut it open and it had all these bands I was blown away what a beautiful Rock hazy dark and Moody and I loved this rock so much I decided to show you again isn’t it beautiful really moody though I had a lot of fun
cutting these rocks it’s really good to know that I can drive few miles away and pick up some rough Rock whenever I need to I’d like to be able to rockhound every single Rock I cut but since I probably can’t sustain that forever I’m really glad I can go get some all of the rocks are my favorite
Rock but this week my favorite Rock was the blue agate followed by the Carnelian and then this piece of petrified wood do you have a favorite let me know in the comments below when I was polishing this petrified wood a piece of it went flying across the garage I’m really not sure if I’m ever going to find
it so I think I’ll probably cut this a little bit shorter but it will still be a pretty big specimen anyway I need to set up a cardboard Shield so that the Rocks can’t go flying across the garage but anyway here’s the inside of that petrified wood I love it what do you think here are some glamour
shots of all of the Rocks this week I can’t wait to cut the next Rock see you soon
